The Master and Wardens look forward to welcoming you to the Mansion House on Tuesday 19th November 2024 for the annual lunch when the Master presents the new Lord Mayor with the quill pen with which he signed himself into Office, and the Lady Mayoress with a Scriveners’ fountain pen. The Company also presents a donation to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal from our Sexcentenary Charity Fund. The 696th Lord Mayor will be Alderman Alastair King, Alderman for Queenhithe since 2016. He practiced as a solicitor with Baker & McKenzie, in the City and in Asia before holding senior positions at SPARK Ventures a pioneering technology venture capital company in London, and was Managing Director at Galahad Capital Plc. He is the founder and Chair of Naisbitt King Asset Management Limited (NKAML), an FCA-authorised asset management company, specialising in managing segregated portfolios of investment grade fixed income securities. This key event in our calendar allows us to meet the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress in their ‘home’ at the very start of his Mayoral year, having been sworn in only ten days earlier at the Silent Ceremony on Friday 9th November. It offers the opportunity to entertain personal and business guests in very special surroundings while supporting the mayoralty, and this Lord Mayor in particular. The dress code is business dress and all Scriveners are encouraged to wear livery ties or badges. The cost of holding the event at Mansion House has increased substantially, but we know that the venue is an important part of this exceptional event. Places at the lunch cost £153 each. Timing: 12.30 for 1.00pm. The entrance is to the side of the building (Walbrook entrance). The Lord Mayor will be received promptly at 12.45pm and the lunch will end at 2.30pm. Please note that booking will close at 5pm on Monday 11 November and refunds will only be made after that time if the place can be re-allocated.
