Scriveners tour the Old Bailey - Tuesday 9 June 2026

We are enormously grateful to Sheriff Keith Bottomley for hosting a group of Scriveners at the Old Bailey on Tuesday 9 June.

Following a drink in the Judges’ Dining Room, when the Master Scrivener presented the Sheriff with a donation for the Sheriffs’ and Recorder’s Fund, Jay Patel then led a tour of the building filling us in the colour and stories of the people who have populated it over the years. 

There was the opportunity to sit in a jury box, a dock, a judge’s bench and the witness stand. Most of us were very happy not to be in any of those places while a trial was going on.
