Taking part in the Sheep Drive - Sunday 28 September 2025
We had a great day out on Sunday, despite the damp. A group of 12 Scriveners, led by the Master, took part in the annual Sheep Drive organised by the Worshipful Company of Woolmen in aid of their charity. Freemen of the City exerted their ancient right to drive sheep toll-free into the City of London. Three of our group had shepherd crooks and one of our smaller members brought a beautiful picture of a sheep to show to the sheep that her mummy was herding.
Thanks to the Woolmen and to the Guild of Young Freemen for their work in organising the event. It had all the hallmarks of Livery Life: Fun, fellowship, charity, tradition and dressing up.
