Burns Supper - Wednesday 28 January 2026

by Linzi James 04 Feb 2026

Our Burns Supper this year was, once again, held in collaboration with the Distillers, the Painter Stainers, the Master Mariners and the HR Professionals. This year Painters’ Hall was the venue for the skirl of the pipes and the recitation of Burns’ poetry.

The haggis was addressed and dispatched by the Clerk to the HR Professionals, Karen Fulton, and, as is now traditional, an English translation was provided by the Clerk to the Distillers, James Bryan. We look forward to seeing what new embellishment they add next year!Haggis, neeps and tatties only served as the starter to the meal. That was followed by Balmoral Chicken and the meal finished with cranachan. Old Bridge Special Reserve whisky was donated by the Bridge of Dulnain Blenders and the Distillers’ Company. The distillers also provided Gin for the reception. The Immortal Memory was proposed by Kenny Mackay, a Distiller, the Lassies were toasted by Commodore Duncan Lamb, a Master Mariner, and Dr Catriona Lamb was given the right of reply. It was a wonderful evening of Livery fellowship and fun.
