Christmas Carol Service - Wednesday 10 December 2025
December brings the annual Christmas Carol Service shared with the International Bankers, the Arbitrators and the City of London Solicitors at St Mary-le-Bow Church. This year the service was led by the Rector, Fr Simon Cuff, who arrived in the parish in September, and our Honorary Chaplain, the Reverend Steven Brookes.
The Masters of the four Companies (Tim Skeet, Matt Molloy, Virginia Cannon and Andrew Claudet) and two of the Wardens (Simon Davis and Andrew Fenemore-Jones) read bible verses relating the advent and nativity of Jesus, and the choir, directed by Thomas Allery, told the story in music. The choir sang ‘O Radient Dawn’ by James MacMillan, ‘People, Look East’, ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ by Walford Davis and ‘Sing, Gloria’. The congregation were in very good voice as they sang ‘Once in Royal David’s City’, ‘While Shepherds watched’, ‘It came upon the midnight clear’ and ‘O Come, all ye faithful’.

Following the service members of the four Companies mingled and enjoyed festive refreshments.
